OnO Theatre Company

High Quality Theatre For Young People

ABOUT

OnO Theatre works to:

  • Create high quality theatre for young people and adults performed in schools, theatres and arts centres.
  • Create work for specific groups and meet the educational needs of our partners.
  • Include active strategies for developing skills of children and young people in pre and post show workshop activities.
  • Support all our programmes with well-researched education packs.
  • Run workshops for young people, teachers and professionals to develop drama skills and support drama education, particularly developing skills in theatre and technical theatre.
  • Create employment opportunities for young performers and other theatre professionals.

We believe theatre enables young people to develop the emotional intelligence and skills to:

  • be healthy
  • stay safe
  • make a positive contribution
  • achieve economic well-being and
  • enjoy and achieve.

There is a steady stream of evidence which demonstrates the impact of the arts in achieving these goals – particularly when we work in partnership with other sectors such as health, education, community safety and youth justice.

“I felt I had to write and say that the performance was one of the most powerful pieces of theatre I have seen in a very long time.  My daughter was deeply affected by it and it has provoked much positive conversation amongst the family. I felt the actors were amazing. Thank you for such an impressive and effective play.  It should be shown to everyone!”
